美国西部当代艺术巡回展作品精选
一个展现美国西部宏阔的自然景色、人文历史、西部牛仔和印地安人生活方式的展览，美国西部当代艺术展将于2007年3月29日在中国美术馆拉开帷幕。展览由美国子午线国际中心和中国美术馆共同主办，展出作品包括五十四位生活和工作在美国西部七个州的当代著名艺术家的66件绘画，40幅美国《国家地理杂志》的摄影图片以及上世纪20年代的电影海报，共一百余件作品。作品来自美国各大美术馆、画廊和私人的收藏。子午线国际中心总裁斯图亚特·华勒迪认为：“中国的‘西部大开发计划’和上个世纪美国的‘西部开发’有很多相似之处。美国西部不仅是美丽的天然圣地，更是引领美国大发展的先驱。”而在2004年，以中国西部古丝绸之路为主题的名为“丝绸之路新画”的当代中国艺术展览，在美国多个城市巡回展出。这两个展览的相继举办，是中美文化艺术交流的成功合作。
