The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
- v* a8 q% q5 ^, t9 z& s) Aseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay0 h0 D' t3 n, K: s( j
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to; B4 s6 q( T) t" w* o. _+ W" d
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these4 A1 y( k! y# H6 @0 M5 _# L9 L; O
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
2 q6 U0 d. ^5 r! lblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look5 y$ C R& L% W5 V8 I
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
" F, i( Y- ~6 e3 C x( ]1 w4 fany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
, G" d2 A; g+ U' j- wkeypoints.
, r5 e1 Y$ F# H- ~7 ?9 a
& p% a- i2 _1 S* ~. ]3 A2 V1 @! ?* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.- w' d- b3 Y4 }; u) w" Y
* All 3 characters have Special moves.2 D* Z% }9 }8 b" y5 O
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
v! n$ w7 a) { a! J1 S1 N' t* a* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.

* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.; m% u# o. }* O$ q2 _

Secret Codes:
/ D9 w, g+ K0 c( EThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter% G' V, s" ^; h$ I; y
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The- i& y3 ^( U6 G+ g4 A9 i
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting$ ~3 F H2 {8 J8 Z
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
6 K) P. g' L! N, X/ x0 ~7 Xdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
/ N( u5 b. c! Ncode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
' i9 u: h/ F; ~0 IBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the5 R# g4 c6 ^5 p k' Z

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
4 y9 S# @3 l5 x9 ~6 U/ b! aPortrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's! {/ x/ c1 Z8 c
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
& [2 q4 h: K9 K) q) wcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
