The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
/ }: j( n0 V0 O2 Omake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
6 A" D) a' G' z+ X" \' l7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
0 s. S1 l! A6 O9 O5 l* k3 _  f' [into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
2 n. |( H# i) D5 _' gkeypoints.
* x3 P& I; a. _
* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
7 i& ~' J+ r% N: O0 ]* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
" V' i4 `0 g2 N! e# b* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
; ^- j( [, ~  b1 E1 C* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
  G  q; n1 i1 z$ J1 m4 P* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

# L" X' v8 a: R, S+ ]# l3 k4 ^The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
9 P/ c+ \& b" a/ h# P: ia combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
4 x& S) S0 }/ |SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
6 t, N' ~  h+ L7 x+ F* D& Mdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
3 B, s0 W/ Y: o1 H/ Z1 Q: _& `  Y# q$ k4 yBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
- X& P2 \& _; `; k- O. o) Qones I listed above.

First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
8 L  D1 B1 D8 r9 b( C6 }When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
! N. H2 }; R& E' E# E! d: A: Uto Kung Lao's Ending.

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
& p. Z, N9 j4 h, }, t' g7 ^: x$ ]character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
5 L3 O; v5 k1 i1 Y+ p4 A1 ?style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
