The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
. p3 V, ^/ a7 M% U0 Y; Jcheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
+ `# J4 y' G+ ^/ W& B& I7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

& z0 u' F% S9 r3 S: |So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
2 i6 W' L* M/ B2 D0 vblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
) \* c& O& A  c5 U4 r/ c; M9 u/ Minto the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
) Y% E- X$ v1 R/ n8 `This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
6 g+ w& h; z" K' D& G7 y6 K5 |" W4 _any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
- ~4 Q, m; e" C1 f/ j* ~+ A) A* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
$ h2 A2 q4 V5 G* @+ r) q/ t* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
7 Z% Q! z# p% l" P* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
$ |8 ~) h, H4 N& l6 }* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

3 e5 I0 r5 K8 ?$ gThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
* S. h$ {1 n, D( ^9 k1 H% z$ L: ja combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
6 s9 t+ h( W' dcodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
! f1 {+ ?. ]9 @' TSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
, Q8 Y3 v8 y5 H7 `" }5 hcode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
0 G3 H# `. e/ i+ k6 |1 P) o) \( Uones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

  W  C0 y& d# M+ z. z7 g, ?8 s; JFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
. S: X+ G+ S) r) L( J* q* o- Ito Kung Lao's Ending.

8 Z# N' D3 Y8 c7 J% [Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
8 ~$ @  @9 r4 t1 |  c; xcharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
- K/ l" S2 h4 l5 [7 H: Rcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
