$ Z( w( W! z1 t5 n9 Q( iThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
' m: E; D- ?5 _, z, j! R' iseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
7 ~" J: ^* _4 |& `' _make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

% W0 s- r5 C- E7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
" {$ k% F) @: W* a7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
2 s5 F/ T- D; m+ [4 abadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
0 E# y& X) M9 X5 m  M5 g7 Yblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
0 n+ `1 W, X9 }6 _, A0 r8 Ointo the problem and thus here is this patch.
& e! P1 \# }1 S/ r! ]! S9 f

& W& O' ?& h4 n4 L5 o' s6 @1 j5 p9 _This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
" d& r. }- L' ]any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
$ W! |4 Z. }, v8 h5 W- ?keypoints.

% m5 [5 G" x! ]4 E* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
- Y% Y( t$ Z$ ?* All 3 characters have Special moves.
+ L% j, A: t- T/ |+ Y4 W$ ^9 q* j* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
- s% V- g6 I, R! m* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
9 o) ?$ Z3 v6 `& C; f) k" x* Y* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

+ \9 K  @2 _- VThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
+ V* f  T; E. q7 mSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
; K( D/ t$ M8 I! o8 `3 x8 i: B  [code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
/ b  i+ Q0 l& D0 xBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
# E* s4 `1 A4 B) I( Q* mones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

Final Notes:
% p% i% Y- @0 `6 G$ N$ RFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
, J: t$ P' C2 @4 Z6 `6 zto Kung Lao's Ending.
* E4 ?* ]$ y0 J0 w
$ L; T2 F4 G$ |- Z' VNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
( s+ L4 t  E/ xcharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
& s$ d% p8 f' M- D2 K, cstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
