The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
  h  \. ?$ H, p8 ~2 f% Hseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
. c5 S- A/ z3 Ymake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
" E) h. w3 z7 p7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
; W# t) P* h9 L( v  mblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

" Z+ G) U* \. Q, P1 h, BThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.
( k' l! s! x1 t$ ~: X# m' J1 U; O
* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
! t5 x6 L7 \, Q! q$ p' ^. H* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
. T2 D' h4 ]" `: _6 {* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
7 z/ D$ E; C, e' P* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
  b+ [! u1 F; [+ t" T, c* C9 h* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

1 `6 n9 M& @) r0 a9 rSecret Codes:
The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
; O. [, _& z% c1 D' n: X2 ta combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
4 e+ z1 h6 @# z. |% xSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
( g6 W& w! t( v' I5 L- ~direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
# r; X) K$ ]: u8 M6 W, w5 V0 _code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
ones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

Play As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B

Play As Jade - Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Select, B

First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.

to Kung Lao's Ending.

8 K) F; D- c/ Y, q/ rNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
7 u$ ?2 t. o. [; v( J9 G& \Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
9 J  `9 F, |8 b6 i8 c3 Ncharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
. j! n( \: T# ]; G1 vcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
' V% ^/ i1 b  p) ~* fstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
