That means if the patch doesn't work for you, use a tool like UCON64 to convert the

Introduction:

3 Z2 a9 Y0 L8 dThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
: s+ c- i2 I% a" T+ a* ?0 d+ j3 Pmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
4 ~' s+ z* {) [- G, w$ a* e" n2 S7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
, s- _. O4 ?. a( ~* E& k+ a; B7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

1 t; I. o" t3 c1 u+ l4 _' a' bSo now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
' l1 |5 x4 b" V  q9 lblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
( y9 W- c2 h2 J) X6 C% }! B" Vinto the problem and thus here is this patch.

. }- T: Z4 F' S8 qPatch Details:
This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
0 E# Y; c  L6 C3 s2 Z0 j2 K  ^* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* g+ A  K, v2 n, _4 f* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

Secret Codes:
; L' d; K, a( \4 @9 [2 rThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
% `# {: {' r- [4 v" Oa combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
' m6 b% o! t& k! H! d3 \codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
9 o1 G1 i5 ^3 _# |3 xdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
& g% t; q9 |1 G% a2 M, iBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
ones I listed above.

Final Notes:
" i0 t8 H$ Z% N' F" C+ oFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
" N: u; p% i4 q& C1 WWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.

1 w5 n4 B! q: f6 wNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
3 z9 V  ]4 c) p5 [* {" }character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
9 p9 t9 r8 U+ tcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
. A6 x: V  ~5 S& a2 ostyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
