That means if the patch doesn't work for you, use a tool like UCON64 to convert the

+ n8 L* A! {! rThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
) Q7 _* d9 |' I$ Jmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7 _5 k8 V4 F! @9 R, P  c: H7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
/ j* B4 }& m* t8 b7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

5 Z2 {5 D* F" |. B& Z9 D, w, m% Xbadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

& `$ o- N! a9 L0 Q  X, i4 a  _9 Q5 J& gPatch Details:
This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
2 z! K( ^! s  l9 O* ~5 {any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
5 o- t( L  A# U: W* `( K) ~* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
5 ]9 [7 `# r* X- w/ _$ i3 j! y4 H: H* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
- t. Z" K- |% Y" t* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

Secret Codes:
" C5 q7 @9 K' h6 X* q0 Q7 [" {The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
  z) w' n. Z# G1 }1 B: D- ea combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
+ t6 |& L5 M0 c# ~SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
2 M1 n) W. D7 ?7 D! t2 A7 Uones I listed above.

First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
/ I# ~( g# r: \5 BWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
7 a& I  S2 M. Dto Kung Lao's Ending.

' q# B2 P, \. |; v2 @Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
6 f% t  s. P2 b2 x2 Ccharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
* b* e5 ]; A' F) x4 B! nstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
