That means if the patch doesn't work for you, use a tool like UCON64 to convert the

# y$ F& [) O, l1 z5 eThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
' c, N/ a+ O1 hcheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
- x$ C" Y- K5 r  |make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:
6 I0 X9 z! w$ J+ b8 _
; R! k0 O) _& R5 k2 J7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
6 L5 C2 p) F* F3 s7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

+ V/ X/ `* k5 r- ?# m' Sbadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
6 k6 b5 k2 e0 @( n; j7 T+ w% Wblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
5 I7 R. U8 U. |* r; j) ~This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
' b% Y- U# x2 z& ?6 L$ c- ?any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
* D" T; Q# a" p4 Ckeypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
& j: C0 w1 S1 o" Y0 E" w# ?* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
+ @( q# \) O( T6 R7 K: {1 K* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
  a1 E6 V9 _0 E' r1 \3 K* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
5 G( `) F* ^+ ?+ i0 [; q, e1 m. X* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

Secret Codes:
$ [/ i/ q, O* L* |$ ?' b3 AThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
* M& G: ?( e3 d8 q- l! [a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
; P  e9 r: n- p: N4 TSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
& X- I& P$ U* Scode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
ones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B


3 d0 U$ N$ q4 W- P! HPlay As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B


Play As Jade - Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Select, B

  P& ^- H2 n7 I) m- ^First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
  ^; W9 O0 |' @/ `, U' N7 t& pto Kung Lao's Ending.
) M$ z" v1 D3 Z3 A7 B: y* ~( h; F, C
Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
* B) F4 p5 {) W& b9 j5 L. istyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
