$ x9 _+ G6 k3 j  T  p% E; cThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
. q& r# ]- y+ V, U+ vmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

8 V% e# N! k# l6 n; B7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
2 {' [7 p5 i9 H7 l% Y7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
0 D/ T: ^9 Z- l" JThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
3 O6 ~8 t4 A4 a. wany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
9 j+ M" w# [; Q* L, |' Mkeypoints.

- K9 P1 q: ^# I& e+ _2 K8 i* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
( a: |# L2 Z' z3 O6 _$ U0 ]- w* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
" P" W* Z8 |2 o/ I: P' t* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
9 ?7 \( G7 I; A: @& j$ Z* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

9 F6 y% Q* @% R9 e/ q: Y! B5 V# wSecret Codes:
; P" \, _2 d8 _  R9 K$ ]* o/ nThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
3 w0 L9 U% U1 l3 T4 Vcodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
" {& M( }2 j+ X  icode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
$ y8 p2 O( w- b5 T- u' nBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
$ }" k0 |! _6 P: I9 _* W! Jones I listed above.


Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
' I7 M& [4 V$ {4 `  nWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.

* N9 f+ K9 H, O! b  R: x/ uNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
) z+ y# p; ^& H3 r9 t. X/ P- NPortrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
3 l  H0 T, k& p9 I# Y( R/ U8 ]character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
5 W( o6 H" d, c" X, o5 X& ocharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
) V! l6 ^5 C. G" w( ?7 B! G/ D1 Kstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
