The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always, @+ Z I( s4 ^: H& T
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay8 s" H8 _; r; @! ]7 q0 N( ~
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to$ Q3 v) p* [! j9 u1 X
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or8 M9 i' |+ {0 v9 M7 z
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
" J1 Q* ~% x" E" j$ u. C& e8 q9 ] ?into the problem and thus here is this patch.2 b0 k0 j8 p! G$ y( W# ^0 H0 h

% m0 O! O: p. r' u, x$ e0 uThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling: l2 `2 r5 W# K" S
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some a" S( S& U; k' ^0 o

0 ?& S$ a$ G0 Y* d9 d3 O1 u; w
* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.* L' W6 h! y+ }* i- ~
* All 3 characters have Special moves.% Y6 G2 c% |8 ]& b: H
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.

* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.

9 e3 H, N/ ]$ ^; t; ^% E0 ~The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter" G, U9 l$ s( N) r) K& `& F
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The0 q9 b8 J$ A$ }5 A* w
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
8 r1 T2 w, J7 k5 ZSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
, T3 `, i! K& q0 t6 P: Mdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct; \" { Z6 q* _+ y' n

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle

character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
# d7 q' x; F# P- x# |character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark0 l" Y0 ~% X* [/ k
