The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always" h, M" Q- i' f
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay% e! f3 j; {' Y) n
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
1 \; `1 D5 Q7 Y5 ~make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these

' m, z, r8 {, z0 B4 B$ ablock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
* m3 f" @6 I7 U2 }( z: dinto the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
, U2 N+ ?# _7 zThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling# q# c5 j; B* V5 f1 d" _0 p
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some/ J% n! k1 K1 ~" f/ s
keypoints.

' ]: k. u# D: Q Z0 p* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.

3 e- O1 Y" I& v* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.4 |$ M, e3 c; G9 F5 a0 B7 g
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.( `/ c1 J0 b A2 d# `% W
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
3 Z& M$ x# j' h* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
( L! x& J0 r; {3 W* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.

The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter/ j M5 ^9 z; s) d
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
1 a' {- I8 ~, R9 ucodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
8 m% c( t& Q" V* C* a4 O/ Y# ]SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
7 S. d/ L* F; ~9 h. }: xdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
' M+ g* m9 t& O0 d5 \0 icode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character./ b: B X5 T/ J7 b$ p3 F

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle

style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
