The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
$ V/ U4 Z7 e- x6 x3 T2 xseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
4 M. ^" \' @( g! U1 }' i+ Ycheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
' g: s  K) U% I' E: ?$ A0 R5 smake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:
4 I/ {8 L+ a! P, b+ ~+ e' x
7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
1 W# l7 s2 ^2 X& i+ U7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
9 }9 e) m2 i+ K: S% f7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
. D$ s8 k3 J' Iinto the problem and thus here is this patch.

% H# U+ s0 e1 v, X2 f6 Y. jPatch Details:
+ s$ f% z% x; V4 h" wThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
9 ?0 {6 c0 y! t: `any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.

2 z/ m  ^3 X! {% q  u  }; P* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
! X& f  {9 q7 n: E  z* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
4 N& }, }* }9 o, _6 c/ H* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* C; }6 w' e1 \* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
4 H  O" _4 J3 w' G2 h9 T" ]4 h5 j* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
. y& y7 R. j) @# m7 R4 T* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

7 h3 M) d& P* \( QSecret Codes:
* K" C  E+ [3 NThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
: r; @( _3 O! ?( _8 c' a# fcodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
5 a# W4 L# y" W  c2 H% VBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
$ s3 A5 S4 A5 R3 i6 _2 h7 E3 Kones I listed above.


Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

Play As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B

2 ]; ^* G" B, ~$ ]7 IFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
4 ?+ g8 b) {0 O" ~When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.

9 [) |) s7 ^) e$ P0 HNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
: h5 _) [% n8 t# @character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
3 }1 v4 I% @+ {+ E0 lcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
+ b, v. ]3 Y! [# _& Zstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
