The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always6 K* `6 \) E* _; X* f
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay7 N& h; d% l% h' w7 C: p7 d
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
5 k/ i( S S) _. ^make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

into the problem and thus here is this patch.

This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
1 p( Z" m; v* u% {2 w/ a- F: zany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some% F+ J2 j* n3 y2 @
keypoints.2 b7 h% }; Q' m$ A+ h0 n
1 x6 S5 t# |& ?; U! U6 z/ X" R1 E* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
Q0 R% r1 k" ]$ d* All 3 characters have Special moves.- f& p( V& g( M
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves." B8 D) X1 n4 ~! f( A$ x' O
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
4 Z5 U7 [5 x0 @: l* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves. ( C; o+ D$ w- O2 a% \, W
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.: ]0 m. z4 k! ~; t9 |; `9 _
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
5 Q$ W6 h4 j+ E6 R! J! q i( j6 }* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
) e+ D9 `! ]+ y w; z5 l4 e" Ua combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The0 `4 | C( T Z/ K$ O
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting3 R, y# C+ f. r$ k
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
: J0 _ E! y* M: w& g/ Qdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct! _8 }( v8 [6 y! s" h9 n% `
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
7 l; Q# h9 V0 h, w' d" GBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the: T5 y: H6 b8 X1 r( ~/ M+ z

to Kung Lao's Ending.

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle: W/ o- o9 Q4 \6 j v
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
* Y6 L4 \+ @# E4 m$ Ocharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each3 h3 ]6 ]3 D1 @& ?1 |
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark1 u+ n, o& x3 t# n) [4 l( D
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
