The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
/ f8 l$ D; R. y9 G) I I3 Oseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay8 G5 n" b1 T" w) S2 ~0 {) W' `
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
: \7 a I% y5 r' Z6 I6 cmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or, I- w4 M1 w8 `3 G" c0 d
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
/ u+ j: g! t4 v5 A5 A$ kinto the problem and thus here is this patch.2 l& Z; ?. |( X; G

Patch Details:
! G3 S* n9 v5 c5 ]This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling1 L5 m6 P$ n8 j( A6 l" ^
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.) Y* J2 ^3 `6 y# J$ x% j

* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.

Secret Codes:
1 M2 F9 J. u0 C7 mThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter6 C, W2 U" L& T1 k
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The# t- u1 ]" f o* q9 |. e
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting, W' |9 L* O0 h' i* U
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
7 G; ^7 h" ], l" w0 o# v. \direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct9 W5 W1 n! J- b& u, `
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.

; M9 ]; n7 j" `# f0 J1 L5 jNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle

# F3 I- W. F% e) M% Echaracter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
4 b( ~. v/ n/ C ]character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
