The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
; o! s$ r( F/ W! b+ {, _  B# Q$ [3 acheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
( n) e* k* S- P' nmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:
. d' V) N( Y" [7 H* C% g
3 h& t2 f  p" {( ]4 |7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
/ O5 U0 I) Y$ Y- @+ E7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
& a/ O# _7 G, w8 [& u! F1 Sbadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
5 Y# `" b2 b) L7 h/ m" JThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.
% T+ ?! b  c3 m- d1 x+ |8 @5 y  t8 R
; D* m* p: X8 f1 i- @2 G, C* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
9 L1 `8 d6 g# Q; U4 o* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
- p6 Q% T/ i5 s: I6 Y7 z) e: H* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.
' u7 {9 N4 F' d3 z# |& j2 s, x
) k; u4 Z2 n+ g* Y4 X5 b. JSecret Codes:
5 }) [4 o3 V- f: Z1 yThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
) U& `; f7 f9 F" i, ncodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
! n* T, \; N; ?% m8 kones I listed above.


Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B
# P  s: S8 k: I; g& H
* j& }( B! N8 E
Play As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B

% U8 A$ i, e. k  s# @/ s
$ M& ?) U3 u+ d0 C9 G: J9 [  `Play As Jade - Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Select, B

以上指令在选人画面输入。而且是必须快速输入（最好在2秒内全部完成输入）

Final Notes:
First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
& ^. @$ {2 l6 q+ u5 E5 cWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
$ M8 O. }& e# {+ ~+ S, ^1 Sto Kung Lao's Ending.

' j2 Q& g& Y7 ^: M5 C3 X0 p7 D& `Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
" W# q; O/ C6 N/ @Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
