Introduction:

, E' a/ a/ a; N2 u: j; GThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
8 I8 M# ?: h! p7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

2 F) m, E& _, D2 N" J3 r3 ^So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
% F1 w% w7 ^% Dbadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
$ l& W& u2 g1 K/ b) ?0 L$ [block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
* I3 J# [6 k) e' g. eThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.
/ \8 H0 W: B& u6 Z+ b
* v3 X4 O( Q) r  U: V* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
! g& i2 F) C: ?' J3 Y2 L( a% [* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
$ c* U' S/ X* s) m& U+ d* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

& y' X% Q  `$ O* rSecret Codes:
) \# L+ F% s* HThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
7 v2 X% S. {* E6 R9 \/ ^; }# fa combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
6 B/ r: }. A# q8 rcodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
# O+ a/ D* {2 c& |! [code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
ones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B
* j- e3 ~8 X5 X! Y

' W* y( a3 O: T/ l( UPlay As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B

Final Notes:
- B( C" @$ ^$ m3 f2 P1 W3 F3 OFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
% R% h0 W; t0 f* c, w; qto Kung Lao's Ending.

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
& V* b% E. x  p6 J( Z& i& cPortrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
% e# v) y; M2 y0 Y" ?7 s7 v' Fcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
6 _2 }- k; ?& Q. Z6 {$ ?style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
