The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
9 A% g* ^4 v" x8 T' ^seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
% V" J; q: M1 A9 S0 ]cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
/ o" Z( F- ]' W/ V2 a. ]7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...


2 a& p+ Q* ]$ a( U4 dSo now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
; s  c% A  g. Z' `, i7 Bblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

8 O3 B) Q7 F- C=============================================

Patch Details:
3 {) o3 ~/ b" D8 h! Y" V0 EThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
- }$ q, R, ^! f# Rkeypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
: G: \1 b5 q0 `. \$ ]* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
8 a: T; ~" R  y, b6 m9 z2 a. t* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
% y6 e: D# m% s  B! x1 j* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
7 G4 v; E1 k% p% ^" i2 E* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.
) b& `5 _2 l; z* B& v. s$ z
9 @$ ~2 I2 |7 B7 ^$ lSecret Codes:
# y* l) E* C% a: JThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
+ z) L$ Q' b2 G. u/ I  Icodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
: x: f: m7 W. D! G( QSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
  e( f4 U& Q0 D" @3 Y) Kcode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
ones I listed above.


8 ^1 X6 Z5 c* B, R3 L  G' MPlay As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

Play As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B

Play As Jade - Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Select, B

以上指令在选人画面输入。而且是必须快速输入（最好在2秒内全部完成输入）

Final Notes:
First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
3 l* r- J' T; Y. z0 TWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.

" v" U( d" x; K, D$ Q6 dNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
