Use this patch on the US Version 1.1 ROM with NO header in non-interleaved format.
That means if the patch doesn't work for you, use a tool like UCON64 to convert the
original ROM to SMC or SWC format, and then remove the header.

Introduction:

The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
; A$ b) P6 N7 F- Cseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
$ Q1 V& b3 L/ @3 _make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
; X/ T% q& E& J$ C; _/ b0 ?% B7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

8 @+ }: _/ ~+ [; |So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
8 [+ ~; P' R1 qblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
6 G, ?0 r& G! ^" j* u: [" j) h; _This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
8 ^7 m2 f' T& d% ?' xkeypoints.
1 C  r6 r  f- {. F& d
; F1 H7 W% l& ^$ M. X# I; z* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
! d% m3 K# k9 w$ X: R* z* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
& b" }- Q- X3 p+ E  ?2 F) f* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.
) Q* s% I7 K9 W7 O, c/ ?# V0 N

# k5 c: U6 I- i/ |. wThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
! i, W4 T+ R# t1 O( Q! Ya combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
5 [/ e$ Y" {7 t; eSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
: O# [2 g: g0 u7 ^+ Z0 M2 ocode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
- {: D! E+ L5 U, gBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
- U# z2 z/ ?) [3 d; c" _" lones I listed above.

以上指令在选人画面输入。而且是必须快速输入（最好在2秒内全部完成输入）

4 p1 H/ n, [0 r5 n! Y  N/ iNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
$ b) P# z1 U( a3 @character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
8 S$ c  E6 D6 |style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
