The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
0 D6 L. U) q! N2 pseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay0 H0 l0 d) z k! F( x
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to" O* j' j/ g. }$ @. e
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:+ ^7 l1 Y) r/ r+ p3 N* N* H

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these7 `5 w B9 w/ m
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or) j; c) z8 e1 M
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
& h% D4 |* m2 m: t, X6 ?, linto the problem and thus here is this patch.

This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling k. n2 @/ n: }! [0 v: R9 L3 j+ v
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.3 h2 O2 \& d6 l0 J
* All 3 characters have Special moves.7 A* H! `. h% F0 Y* f% B- ~
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.: l, p1 L) z$ K1 _( d9 F' o- Z
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.

Secret Codes:
$ _ K& I8 b4 Q9 l6 n4 CThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter: i3 L$ h. R4 _' S8 M% J
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The: F0 R; ^+ [% L
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting+ f- }6 |8 d; @1 y, a
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another! H1 _% @% |9 Z2 c" q
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
0 z3 x S1 P8 O. Scode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.2 B6 \; m: B# P0 O ?

When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default

Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's' T) l8 ?" g; H
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each# I) u+ w# \ }7 B" W. z5 v
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark6 b) u& H _/ e1 s- x0 m
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
