The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
. i: ^7 J/ I& `3 r' useemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
: z2 v) ^8 |$ e! wmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
2 b+ R. j3 _1 u: q2 v+ F# U7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

% v, t5 y% R! M8 [So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
% C$ O+ y5 \* ^4 _. P5 v3 u: Vbadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
8 k% D9 m: n9 J/ B$ T4 f7 Qblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
5 `5 [# [, M, ~& j" Ninto the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
% U& m% `, ?& f# Bkeypoints.
" e+ C1 C8 }0 j! u
* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
9 R2 g6 C2 a- v7 r4 ~* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
2 O. E6 {; N: ~5 L& l8 a* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

( {, D# W. h/ B# ~! }7 T5 s0 GSecret Codes:
The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
7 I0 s! I% h' y/ XSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
5 s5 T" I0 ^- n8 R  Fdirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
) s4 i6 `% l6 ?+ h, v. p" g2 Gcode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
ones I listed above.

First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
1 ?) k* m1 q) y# m1 s. Z5 MWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
3 q$ J7 u4 r8 D& N. I7 s" |  ~to Kung Lao's Ending.
) [. K% f* \/ |7 ?2 o2 N" X3 z
; N$ h% T# [- M) MNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
: Y4 `6 t# j6 y. }character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
