The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
& b9 g5 Q8 h* Zseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

* V% _  d" x6 L# ~7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade
8 _/ M' t3 E5 b5 y5 u
; z' O  e- A9 ?( [( j8 qSo go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...
5 Y& u7 e; o0 `8 I

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
2 @6 B/ k  e( }# |) H" ~badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
9 C: u8 v7 {. V3 a  ]- Winto the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
. E, [) k" z7 o5 M4 Uany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
, W* k" z0 k/ a2 f  B% Kkeypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
, O! x. v0 Z; _/ [! Q" V0 q5 A* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

Secret Codes:
: t; E9 t  L/ iThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
" ^# h6 ]$ B6 m9 Y7 G. P, Y; `& ?codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
# b+ O2 s6 M9 N. r+ A( E8 X+ m0 p* }SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
; R- a7 o  Y$ W5 dcode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
: \, g* Q1 O3 b( U) g+ E' WBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
; }0 u* I$ O  Z1 Q+ Wones I listed above.

" U" V. k7 p$ W5 GFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
5 s7 h$ ?: l, q2 uWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.
7 _& K# o5 c; E! ~: p! J6 w
Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
4 v3 x4 [% Y* s  NPortrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
5 Z* n* u9 M! M& D6 M5 N, k1 _& Icharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
  Q+ C% v3 M6 y) nstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
