The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always

* ?! q; u3 L- B& ], i7 Hcheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to2 K! A# k0 d( ]4 v: [
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:% S J6 d. g5 o, T% X& p6 F

So now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these

block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look+ h& F3 ~, g- i8 z3 b3 T
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

3 u/ d: @, p" X. mThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
/ i& E8 B/ S- Y& o. j: q }3 pany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some

" \8 O8 `2 _. E R* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.6 R; x6 i& b9 Z3 H' y- B

* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.

The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter

codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
3 I/ U, G" s* o" \# L3 T$ ?! [SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another$ A/ L6 S5 i# C) a: X' a, y0 h
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct8 {3 A9 A4 X; d( ]
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.0 G9 `) S5 u- d3 e' ~

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle8 U0 _) A+ P. Z3 r: r" z/ f
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's9 R( j% ?. [% B) B
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each( \ u" S Z" T) |; ^
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark$ T4 O. {1 o7 a" q
