The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
+ p, l9 z8 ?7 ?. o9 Q) v6 kseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay0 f5 y0 C2 u7 e' D# l B8 j! X+ ?4 J
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
( }% f2 q, [. s' Qmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look; j8 A* g1 U' G, U1 G: y( I( L
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

: B0 Z, x* w3 Jany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some9 ~' I+ l; X+ h" M5 [3 u6 b
keypoints.

* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
; V% r7 [9 g- {9 j. Y* All 3 characters have Special moves.) T5 ~1 |6 x: B: k5 Y, T& M& ]
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.8 i+ s) \7 [, g6 q+ e. I
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
8 I1 a/ x, A3 u7 K* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.

* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.

Secret Codes:
9 L; n& e* W+ o! [( f: r3 k8 mThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter* Z; v }; `! v- e) D3 }1 i; N
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The8 P+ H! R. g3 G4 v( m2 N
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting1 A/ I* }& k, k$ p$ g" }" n' F
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
( o/ x# b7 e" G# I( `, Ydirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
" f Z+ q: F7 ycode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.0 b: n' }" c/ A; n# i

First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle" I1 _7 _. y& A; T3 E8 h
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
- c7 U* P1 T6 F, R+ C* d0 S" ^character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each* H1 f2 y: }2 \, k" ?) r. ~
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark: g! n5 y/ y' z7 p, R; o
