2 A  X2 V) r, P! N* GThe hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
% W# X, Q! B2 x6 f- ^# U; f( Rseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
  e9 Q2 Y; W' i4 F1 acheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

* N& G" r* T- w  n7 g7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
# g/ F# M: S: v: {8 O  l( n7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

) W% O5 i2 Z2 d, Ybadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
6 u% Z! Q5 `) V$ g3 d, o" |* h* }block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
" v+ G1 Z; k9 j4 L, Rkeypoints.

9 o# Y( E/ ?6 f0 f+ Q1 ^) }5 x* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
2 O( i  U1 {: p- V+ {; ~6 x7 n. F* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
) J( G& ?: x" J* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
+ y+ t! n, Y1 B, x: ]- Z. ]7 c* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
9 S  h3 M: }* z. Q" z1 l* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

Secret Codes:
8 P' Z: d- o1 Y8 a5 q- g9 k* t' tThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
" J- C7 H4 D6 L/ `5 Za combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
3 F/ j! i$ y: o6 y, s; E, ]SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
% @" O' n) |" R6 H7 n0 _0 ]Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
( A2 w. z1 V" A1 z6 Xones I listed above.


Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

Play As Jade - Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Select, B

Final Notes:
# t, M3 O+ w* b$ K# ~% wFirst thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
" }- o! e3 A1 y  m$ B) Y8 F1 P4 A! {When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.
8 @1 S6 \  S1 T2 C3 A/ N
Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
4 [1 a, U. U9 t9 D# ~+ t3 a0 vPortrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
0 y8 {8 S# y) Q7 tcharacter has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
