The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always3 n. n: d% c! I% _+ q& T
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay7 v& k1 h$ E' e8 H7 ]
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to# F$ g1 M' h8 C
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look5 T$ ^/ z ^( d6 V" i1 k) H, z2 A
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling" I& V# H8 e2 a& I# H7 ], Z" w
any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
# P3 b3 r3 _# ukeypoints.

$ L5 _) S; t4 ]- q# U* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.2 A5 N! [5 s6 O ~* |" L- {2 i
* All 3 characters have Special moves.. D4 [# r1 S3 n) P: K& v2 h
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
4 b2 S4 U' ?0 b* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.: {3 o) v3 T; F
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
3 k+ J3 Y- ?* n5 z# u) U7 [* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.& x) \: R$ K$ E4 E
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
( I1 T: _# p6 c6 x4 N" g, B6 o* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting# y% G5 X2 n* H3 O2 C
SELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another) E9 G# I( }) B8 A* u' ~) g
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct$ T3 X/ \) x: C
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
& l* g! k7 [ OBelow are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the2 X3 m5 Z# q! m" [# L* z+ M
ones I listed above.

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle

5 b" ^7 ?2 c7 k! Y2 J& xcharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each6 G# a. J% _- j" o- x
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
