The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
seemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
cheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
+ _- `- n/ X: Mmake you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:

7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
) k/ x+ h, i9 S  \* [7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

So go give that a try, I'll wait here till you get back...

& o9 P* l7 W& H6 @5 H, j0 jSo now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
; z. w4 X& n* Ibadass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
2 d* Y: m! w) x# k# ]4 M+ N: q/ mblock will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
into the problem and thus here is this patch.

0 y3 K$ J$ s' P" o+ B9 I. I# u( G! VThis patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
" F9 K& K' h) \1 G7 J5 ?any of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
keypoints.

) T/ h8 M, u+ x% i5 y0 N* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
* All 3 characters have Special moves.
* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
$ V) S9 ^3 n: z* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
( p: t9 r) p- u9 l2 }2 ]! K* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.

) P+ e( k" g, x' q* iSecret Codes:
The secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
codes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
) O" i' c( A- P! g; WSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
+ O  C& x4 m8 t  E$ h8 idirection on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
code sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
( I! f- a& j- N0 @Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
" W4 v& W, r% j- iones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

Final Notes:
2 }4 a3 l( d1 N$ }9 ^# X; _/ l# m9 _First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
. E8 |/ A: k& H3 E" C* w) P. CWhen you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
, ^2 Q7 S/ t; `9 B0 H4 Dto Kung Lao's Ending.

Next, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
- F$ |( w$ @; H# _" ~- v. l, yPortrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
character picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
- x2 ~3 P! {- y+ \character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
  u$ i( w$ ?) V1 O4 cstyle portrait like the tournament ladder has.
