Introduction:

The hidden characters in Mortal Kombat II (Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Jade) always
7 C7 P' K: E6 r" e) M0 Tseemed very cool to me. So awhile back I thought I could make a Pro Action Replay
) ~- O. `: ]" Qcheat code to play as these characters. It was simple enough to make a code to
make you be any of the three. Try it out in an unpatched ROM. Use these codes:
' z7 x* Z4 Z- ~6 P
; ~: s" A' R* l4 z( K/ S7E2EF80E - Player 1 Is Smoke
7E2EF80F - Player 1 Is Noob Saibot
7E2EF810 - Player 1 Is Jade

9 |* i& i6 G7 }+ U2 Y# I6 Z# LSo now you see that while you can force the game to let you be one of these
badass characters, doing anything other than pressing Up, Down, High Punch, or
+ B! z9 ]- ?( r$ t( W, M) \block will cause the game to crash. This isn't very fun. So I decided to look
0 h3 M+ q7 V0 a8 F& _0 r* T, }into the problem and thus here is this patch.

Patch Details:
This patch does alot of things to allow the game to run with a human controlling
/ R( |9 Q; J# M% e; K  I5 Gany of the hidden characters (Smoke, Noob, Jade) without crashing. Below are some
- `1 o5 j/ U. W+ ekeypoints.

' q: {% L1 z. Z4 \9 x0 y. C& K) q* All 3 characters can now move like every normal character without crashes.
6 D1 H% Q# p3 P2 b- _* All 3 characters have Special moves.
( w3 _/ V4 y* T) w$ [$ Y* All 3 characters can now perform Finishing Moves and be Finished themselves.
* All 3 characters have Fatality moves.
) n; t7 E: z3 D9 r: Z0 @0 }* All 3 characters have Friendship and Babality moves.
1 v. t2 K9 m# g" q* All 3 characters are no longer stuck in Goro's Lair, the may appear anywhere.
* Playing 2 Player Versus with a Hidden Character no longer crashes the game.
7 U6 G0 B1 _% p* B( @* Added 'Secret Codes' to play as any Hidden Character for Player 1.
! |5 t4 c1 N0 a) l) l- Y
Secret Codes:
) L: [( h/ F) NThe secret codes are entered on the Character Selection Screen. You must enter
a combination of directional pad presses followed by SELECT to enter them. The
- a; j( q8 i9 t/ c5 P/ ^& |8 S2 Rcodes were made the way they are so they are very easy to enter. After hitting
9 ?% p( N& o1 Y4 _1 ~' aSELECT you should press any of these buttons: A,B,X,Y,L,R. If you press another
direction on the directional pad after pressing Select and hearing the correct
+ v+ O+ a  h" V$ z6 pcode sound effect, you will change your character back to a regular character.
Below are the buttons you should press. Note, You can exchange B for any of the
- v1 Z1 a: C* G" B# W7 Eones I listed above.

Play As Smoke - Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Select, B

8 S% A9 x$ v" CPlay As Noob - Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select, B

Play As Jade - Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Select, B

Final Notes:
First thing you should know is there aren't any endings for the new characters.
6 W0 M; O' e# l9 K& |% ?When you beat the game and it should show an ending story, the game will default
to Kung Lao's Ending.

4 N$ l9 o# l9 `" G4 t; Y$ qNext, in Versus Mode any Secret Character will use Kung Lao as their "Battle
Portrait" that appears on the screen that says BATTLE # and has each player's
+ q% k1 M% H7 @2 v0 Bcharacter picture. In a later version if I can I will change this so each
character has their own unique portrait or they will all get a question mark
style portrait like the tournament ladder has.
